The
Joan Crawford Collective was founded in 2004 at BAFTA- they had lied about
who they were in order to enjoy the subsidised bar. Their aim is to provide
a sketch-come-cabaret show using darkly observed characters. During the course
of an evening you can expect to laugh out loud one minute and be vaguely disturbed
the next. There are also songs and poetry thrown in for your Gran... maybe.
Embrace the darkness...

Teri
Levett |
Teri
is the founding member of The Joan Crawford Collective. She originally
trained as an actress and was hugely successful playing Sister Lee in
Judge John Deed (1 scene) and WPC in Crimewatch Solved (she arrested a
paedophile) as well as "Placid Wife" and "Angry Girlfriend"
in various adverts. She was also in the ground-breaking 2001 production
of Lady Windermere's Fan starring Liza Goddard, Fenella Fielding and Christopher
Biggins.
Despite
these acting riches, she felt the public needed to witness even more
of her talents. As well as writing and performing for The Joan Crawford
Collective she is also a member of Ken Campbell's Warp Company and is
known on the stand-up circuit as Janice Windebank, Performance Poet. |
Sarah
Mayhew
|
Sarah
started off life as a baby and progressed to the terrible twos without
hitch, she made her stage debut at the age of 3 in a beautifully crafted
piece entitled 'Thank Heavens for Little Girls' within the next few years
she played the usual characters .....Mary Poppins, a cat, 3rd girl from
the left in the back row, etc. Amazingly she became a professional dancer
and travelled the world, but soon grew tired of this lifestyle and gave
it all up to tread the boards rather than leap around on them. Again she
played the usual characters......3rd girl from the left behind the market
stall, policeman no:2......plus many more memorable moments. Then she found comedy and has entertained people ever since in some wonderful character based pieces as well as part of Scared Scriptless the improvisational comedy team. Sarah mostly enjoys swearing and is partial to the odd pickled onion sandwich or maybe a crabstick. |
John
Henry Keating
|
As
the eldest member of the team, John suffers many cruel jibes about baldness
and incontinence. He has worked in theatre, television and film, yet is
still skint. Dead apparently, no other member of the team has the heart
to tell him. |
Simon
Blackman |
Simon
Blackman is the brains/sick, twisted idiot behind hilarious sketch series
such as Wit Tank and Unexploded Knickers. He has written and performed
in well-received black comedies such as: A Day in the Life of John Lemon
and Your Indoor World. Simon took the lead role in two runs of Joe Orton's:
The Erpingham Camp which were both sell-out successes. He performs improvised
comedy with Scared Scriptless
and Quirkish Delight.
Simon is currently working on the correct pronunciation of 'hyperbole'.

We'd
love to tell you more about the fourth member of the team, but at the
moment, we don't anything about this mystery man. Hopefully someone will
be along soon to look at this page and provide the webmaster with a name,
a biog, or a large cheque. Until then, there will be a short delay... |
