Close to the High Street

Within walking distance of the High Street at the top end (away from the seafront), there are a few other notable shopping outlets:

When mentioning shopping in Southend, it's also important to mention the Victoria Lanes market (off the southern end of the High Street behind Marks and Spencer)

There's also the huge open-air Roots Hall Market on a Thursday, at the football ground (5 minutes drive down Victoria Avenue)
